The appliance is equipped with 8 × 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports and 8 × 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports, plus a dedicated 1/10G SFP management port, RJ-45 console, and USB 3.1 interface for comprehensive deployment versatility and out-of-band administration. An AMD 7282 16-core processor (2.8 GHz) with 64 GB system memory powers the platform, along with a hot-swappable 900 GB solid-state drive for local logging and telemetry storage. The chassis features front-to-back airflow for optimal data center cooling integration, includes two hot-swappable 400 W AC power supplies (one pre-installed; redundant unit optional), and hot-swap fan modules for hardware resilience.

Running Cisco ASA software (version 9.17.1), the appliance delivers up to 22 Gbps stateful firewall throughput (UDP) and 15 Gbps multiprotocol throughput, with 15 Gbps IPsec VPN throughput and support for up to 7,000 VPN peers, enabling large-scale secure remote access and site-to-site VPN connectivity at line rate. The platform scales to 4,000,000 concurrent firewall sessions (with AVC) and 170,000 new connections per second, with 2 security contexts included for secure multi-tenant segmentation. Q-in-Q support allows stacked VLAN configurations with up to two 802.1Q headers per packet for complex segmentation. Active/standby high-availability configurations and multi-chassis clustering enable the appliance to scale performance as operational demands grow.
