It is not a stand-alone switch; it is a line-card-style module that installs into the zl2 expansion slot of the Aruba 5400R zl2 Switch Series. The module adds twenty-four 1 Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports with IEEE 802.1AE MACsec encryption support, protecting traffic between switch ports at line rate.
With MACsec v3, the module provides hardware-based Layer 2 encryption for organizations that require confidentiality and integrity for sensitive wired traffic. The SFP-based ports accept a wide range of Aruba and HPE-qualified optical or copper transceivers for flexible fiber and copper connectivity.
