Cisco Catalyst C1300-48P-4G Switch Overview

The switch provides 48×10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) downlink ports with up to 30 W per port and a total PoE budget of 370 W to power IP phones, Wi-Fi access points, surveillance cameras and IoT endpoints over a single network connection. The high-density PoE+ feature means that busy branch office, school or retail deployments won't need separate power adapters. The switch also has 4 fixed 1G SFP uplink ports for fibre access to allow for flexible backbone integration. Front-panel stacking allows you to manage up to 8 switches as a single logical unit with one IP address.

The switch is with 1.4 GHz dual-core ARM CPU, 1 GB DDR4 DRAM and 512 MB flash memory. It has a switching capacity of 104 Gbps and forwarding rate of 77.38 Mpps. The platform supports 16,000 MAC address entries, 4,093 VLANs, jumbo frames up to 9,000 bytes, 8 link aggregation groups (LACP), 8 MSTP instances, 126 RPVST+ instances and 2,000 IGMP multicast groups. Advanced Layer 3 features such as static IPv4/IPv6 routing, inter-VLAN routing, Policy-Based Routing (PBR) and DHCP server enable network segmentation without dedicated routing hardware.

Security features include IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication, Access Control List (ACLs) (up to 1,024 rules), Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI), IP Source Guard, DHCP snooping, DoS attack prevention, and IPv6 First Hop Security (FHS). QoS with 802.1p/DSCP-based classification and WRR/strict priority queuing with eight priority queues. It is equipped with a fixed cooling fan, an internal power supply with 100–240 VAC (max 450.65 W consumption) and a small 1RU rack mountable chassis (445 × 350 × 44 mm, 5.43 kg). IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) for power saving. MTBF: 1.67 million hours. Cisco Business Dashboard – Web-based GUI and CLI, SNMP and zero-touch deployment with Cisco Network Plug and Play makes management easy.

The C1300-48P-4G series is perfect for enterprise branch offices, corporate LAN deployments that require PoE for IP phones and cameras, classroom networks that power Wi-Fi access points and interactive displays, healthcare facilities and retail environments that require secure, high port density PoE+ switching with 1G fibre uplinks. With Cisco's Limited Lifetime Hardware Warranty, your investment is protected for years to come. full PoE budget (740 W), see the C1300-48FP-4G full-PoE sister model.

FAQ

Q1: What is the Cisco Catalyst C1300-48P-4G?

A1: The Cisco Catalyst C1300-48P-4G is a fully managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for small and medium-sized business networks. It provides 48 PoE+ access ports and 4 Gigabit SFP uplink ports for fiber connectivity and network expansion.

Q2: How many ports does the switch have?

A2: The switch includes:

● 48 × 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports.

● 4 × 1G SFP uplink ports.

● 1 × RJ45 console port.

● 1 × USB Type-C console port.

This configuration supports high-density device deployments and flexible uplink connectivity.

Q3: Does the C1300-48P-4G support PoE?

A3: Yes. The switch supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards.

Key PoE specifications include:

● Up to 30W per port.

● Total PoE budget: 370W.

It can power:

● Wireless access points.

● IP phones.

● Surveillance cameras.

● IoT devices.

Q4: Are the uplink ports 10G?

A4: No. The C1300-48P-4G includes 4 × 1G SFP uplink ports.

If 10G uplinks are required, users typically select models such as:
