Cisco Nexus 9364C Switch (N9K-C9364C) Product Overview
The N9K-C9364C features 64 fixed 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 ports and 2 fixed 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ management ports, offering unmatched port density in a compact 2U form factor. The last 16 ports (49-64) are green-colored and support wire-rate MACsec (IEEE 802.1ae) hardware encryption at full line speed, providing layer-2 security for server and leaf-to-spine connectivity without performance degradation. Each QSFP28 port supports 40-Gigabit or 100-Gigabit speeds, with QSFP-to-SFP adapters enabling 10-Gigabit connectivity on ports 1-48. All 64 ports also support CloudSec overlay encryption for secure VXLAN EVPN fabrics.
Powered by Cisco Cloud Scale technology, the Nexus 9364C provides 32 GB system memory and 256 GB SSD storage for telemetry and application hosting. The switch features 1+1 redundant hot-swappable power supplies (1200W AC, 930W DC, or 2000W HVAC/HVDC options) and 3+1 redundant fan modules with port-side intake or exhaust airflow, enabling high availability and serviceability in live environments. The switch supports both Cisco NX-OS mode for standards-based VXLAN EVPN fabrics and Cisco ACI mode for policy-based, intent-driven automation as a spine node in Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) multi-tier fabrics. Comprehensive protocol support includes OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, PIM-SM, MSDP, and ECMP with up to 64 paths.
Backed by an MTBF of 237,760 hours and measuring 3.39 x 17.41 x 22.59 inches (HxWxD), the switch features a system buffer of 80 MB, longest prefix match (LPM) entries up to 896,000 for IPv4 and IPv6, MAC address table size of 256K, and multicast route capacity of 32,000. Management is supported via CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, HTTPS, and SNMP for programmable automation and streamlined operations. Note that the original N9K-C9364C model has reached end-of-sale (30-Jan-2024) with support ending 31-Jan-2029; customers planning new deployments should consult Cisco for current ordering options such as the Nexus 9364C-GX or 9364C-H1 variants.
