Product Overview
The Juniper MPC7E-10G is a fixed-configuration Modular Port Concentrator (MPC) line card for the MX Series routing platforms. It is a true line card, not a small NIC or PCIe adapter: it occupies an MPC slot in an MX chassis and is populated with forty 10-Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ ports.
Each port accepts 1GbE or 10GbE SFP/SFP+ transceivers, and the card sustains a line-rate throughput of up to 400 Gbps. MACsec is supported at 1GbE and 10GbE speeds, providing hardware-based link encryption on every port. The MPC7E-10G is used in MX960, MX480, MX240 and MX2000-class routers to add dense, low-latency 10GbE aggregation.
As a fixed-configuration MPC it is installed and operated like other MX line cards under Junos OS, with no on-card fungible port adapters to manage.
