Product Overview
The Juniper MPC7E-MRATE is a fixed-configuration multi-rate Modular Port Concentrator for MX Series routers. It is a genuine line card, not a promotional or watermarked stock photo: it installs in an MPC slot of an MX chassis and provides twelve multi-rate ports that can operate as 10GbE, 40GbE or 100GbE using QSFP+/QSFP28 transceivers.
The card sustains a line-rate throughput of up to 480 Gbps and weighs 15.7 lb (7.1 kg). Its multi-rate flexibility lets operators mix 10/40/100GbE in the same slot, supporting migration from 10GbE/40GbE aggregration toward 100GbE without changing hardware. Like other MX MPCs it is managed by Junos OS.
The MPC7E-MRATE is well suited to edge and core MX deployments that need configurable high-density multi-rate Ethernet in a single line card.
